Never lose your train of thought.

vatra is a Chrome side panel for your tabs. The ones you keep coming back to stay warm and close at hand; the ones you've forgotten cool off and get out of the way. Everything runs locally — no account, no sync, no server.

What it does

Sorted by real attention. Not by the order you happened to open things. vatra watches which tabs you actually return to and floats them to the top.
Hover or Alt+S. The panel sits collapsed at the edge of the page as a thin strip. Hover it, or hit the shortcut, and it slides out with the search box focused.
Keep the panel, the strip, or neither. One button at the top of the strip switches: click for the next, or hover it to pick. With the strip pinned, hovering a tab fans it and its neighbours out as a wave of titles beside the strip, and your pinned tabs ring the first one.
Search tabs and history together. Type; open tabs match first, recently closed pages underneath. Enter goes to the top hit.
Hot, Domains, Closed. Three views — what's warm right now, everything grouped by site, and what you closed and might want back.
Private by construction. Your tabs and history are read on your device and stay there. Read the privacy policy — it's short.

The pinned strip's wave, the pinned ring, then the full panel.

The vatra panel open over a Wikipedia article, listing ten tabs ordered by attention — The Hot view — ordered by the attention each tab actually gets.

Searching for "ember": a matching open tab, a search fallback, and a recently closed page — One box searches open tabs and recently closed pages together.

The Domains view grouping seven Wikipedia tabs under en.wikipedia.org — Domains view — tabs collected by site, reorderable.

The pinned strip at the edge of a page: hovering the TypeScript tab shows its title large, with two neighbouring tabs above and below it as smaller cards — The pinned strip — hover a tab and it rises out of the strip with its neighbours.

Pinned tabs opened into a half-ring around the first pinned tab beside the strip, with the hovered tab's title in a card — Pinned tabs ring the first one, and open into a half-circle on hover.
